Ectos are now being spammed constantly in Kamadan and Temple of Ages for 4.5K (or less) by sellers. I saw someone "dumping" 20 of them for 4.2K each a few minutes ago.

I hate it when I'm right.

I would not surprise me if, within a month, ectos are regularly traded between players for below 4K. And that's a good thing, IMO.

I can't wait for that moment. Some scrolls and ecto's might make a small fortune. People will still want to farm and the prices of scrolls might go up fast.

The only flaw in that theory, unfortunately, is that the Tomb of Primeval Kings is also a hot ecto farming spot...just go visit there and you'll see 50+ A/E's making a beeline for the vortex. I'm assuming that they are farming the Terrorwebs and Banished Dream Riders that are very close to the entrance.

Superior Shadow Runes going up to 100k would be another nicey
Making uw harder for sins would be similar to when they added mares for 55s
And adding new skins/new HoM would bring ecto price up since every1 would need more ectos to buy that stuff

Destroying economy? What? I'll be sitting on a stack of ectos in no time, and a lot of players with me will. You can buy whatever you want now - what's the problem? As long as there are plenty of money sinks (chaos gloves, obsidian armor) and people spending money, the economy won't be destroyed.

No wai that sup shadow runes will go that high. Most ppl got them already (those ppl who actually want to farm), so it will remain steady. Ecto price wont go up just because they add new weps to HoM :s you have kinda weird logic. Armbrace prices might go up, but not ectos, that just doesnt make sense at all.

Weird. I easily sold like 30 ectos 4,6k each 2 days ago. Saw ppl buying @ 4,5k ea (not in ToA, but in Kamadan, yea). Its kinda stupid to sell for ~4k.

The lowest I have seen ecto's sold anywhere over the past 2 weeks has been 4.5k which is a drop of 300g

Ppl selling @4k, not a chance, same old scare mongering to try and prove a point.

The fact is the economy was screwed the minute farming builds were made and was flushed down the toilet by the first duper.

To go by the rationale of the OP and subsequent whiners, then because of the hugest duping scandal ever in GW, armbraces should be 10g each and ectos should be lower

The simple fact is that about 20%more ppl farm ectos than before, you could have gone to ToA anytime in the past 3 years and saw ppl continually farming UW

when 55's could solo ectos why were they not 1k each then as there are more 55's than anything else, espesh as a 55 could solo all UW

who cares about stupid Ectos, when the game already has its new currency: Z-Keys -.- and then there will stand ever over them still Armbraces ..

so nothing destroys the already broken economy thanks to those assholes of cheating dupers and the huge load of Loosers, which buy gold from Gold Sellers (Ebay) + all the Botters... it can't be broken more anymore.

The only change that this will bring, is that it becomes for casual players finally easier to get on the huge amount of Ectos, so that casual gamers finally receive also too the chance to get for their Characters a FoW Armor and/or ugly Chaos Gloves...

Ectos were imo ever somewhat of overestimated rare mats, its only good, when this stuff finally gets a draw back onto the ground of normality, because Ectos were never intended to work as currency. Players made that so, due to the 100k Plat Limitation and for all those selfish/greedy players of the community 100k were/are not enough, they had to find something, that can be used as currency -.-

its also good for the players's HoM's, for players who want to get all the Elite Armors for their monuments. A like 2 Million Plat costing Armor Set is there against all the others, which cost only like 75-100 Plat (base cost + mats) way too ridiculous.

There are other rare items, which could easily replace ectos:

Black Dye, Rubies and Saphires, Diamonds and Onyx can easily replace Shards.

Those Gems are imo the real items, which should be used as currency beside of Gold and not Ecots/Shards, only because those stuff drops from Elite Areas.

Because this reasonign would be then also an arguement for Torment Gems to become the new curreny, but wait..oh we get ya Armbraces out of them -.-

I find it good, that Ectos fall down, then maybe will become other things that deserve more worth more valuable. With Ectos is it in GW, like with a Dictatorship/Monopoly. Such things should never exist in MMO's and its good ,when this finds an End, it would be only good for the games broken Economy
